Stiffkey Blue- Part Two

Ok so several months after taking the plunge to paint the dining room in Farrow & Ball Stiffkey Blue, it’s finally done. Having been fully committed to Farrow & Ball Pavilion Gray as my go-to neutral, deciding to paint the whole dining room a dark colour felt like a big step. Not helped by my brother’s comment half way through the process, that the room looked like a cave! Despite that, we ploughed on and I am pleased that we did.

We wanted a room that was flexible enough to be an extra sitting room, particularly with the log burner but still worked as a dining space.

The furniture we had (a Habitat chair and sofa) were just too big, but having blown the budget on the log burner we had to wait before we could buy anything new. The Debenhams sale was irresistible though and we opted for a mid century look alike leather chair and velvet sofa that fit the space perfectly.

We added an Ikea cabinet for glasses (and gin) and as many plants as I could fit in and we finally got there.

As many of you know, I have been sharing the Stiffkey love and others have taken up the mantle. I thought I’d share a few of their photos too.
